Fix a disk without the tire on an axis of the balancing device. Establish a measuring tip of the strelochny indicator at first on radial, and then on lateral internal surfaces of a disk on which the tire board (fig. 13.2) leans .

NOTE The most admissible radial palpation – 0,8 mm; the most admissible lateral palpation – 1,2 mm.

Hands slowly turn a disk of the balancing device, at the same time taking readings of the indicator. Thus do not consider a deviation of an arrow of the indicator from local ledges or deepenings on a disk.

If the maximum value of palpation exceeds admissible limits, replace a disk.

NOTE Maximum palpation of a steel disk: N = 0,6 mm, S = 0,8 mm. Maximum palpation of a cast disk: N = 0,5 mm, S = 0,5 mm.
