Diameter of the external hinge of equal angular speeds can make 81,0 or 90,0 mm. The external hinge in diameter of 90,0 mm has stronger case and  (fig. 9.8) differs from the hinge in diameter of 81,0 mm a protective cover and existence in a protective cover of two steel rings .

Removal of the external hinge carry out in the following order;

– cнимите collars of fastening of a protective cover also shift a cover from the hinge on a power shaft;

– carefully clear an internal part of the hinge and remove a spring lock ring from the interior of the hinge;

– fix a power shaft in a vice with soft sponges and an aluminum or copper hammer bring down the hinge from a power shaft (fig. 9.9) ;

– remove a spring lock ring, laying and a tarelchaty washer from the end of a power shaft.

Installation of the external hinge carry out in the following order;

– fill the internal hinge of 90 g of greasing;

– establish on a power shaft a tarelchaty washer, the convex party to the hinge;

– establish on a power shaft a new spring lock ring, fix a shaft in a vice with soft sponges and an aluminum or copper hammer fill the hinge on a power shaft, thus a lock ring should enter precisely into a flute on hinge inside (fig. 9.10) ;

– establish on the hinge an antisplash cover and fix it collars (fig. 9.11) . Before fastening of a protective cover by collars, a screw-driver

raise internal edge of a cover for alignment of pressure of air under a cover;

NOTE On cars with petrol engines in volume of 1,6 l and turbodiesel engines since September, 1990 the modernized antisplash covers to which fastening the modernized collars are applied were established. The tool 1683 is necessary for fastening of these collars (fig. 9.12) .

– sponges of the tool establish on corners of a clip of a collar and in this situation tighten sponges the screw.
