Repair B3-B4/Passat B3-B4 Volkswagen Passat>> Steering>> Replacement of tips of steering drafts Replacement make in the following order:
– will hang out and fix on basic racks a forward part of the car;
– remove the corresponding wheel;
– measure visible number of rounds of a carving on inside of a tip of steering draft for correct installation of a tip of steering draft;
– weaken a lock-nut of fixing of steering draft;
– unscrew a nut of fastening of the spherical hinge of a tip of steering bent for to a rotary fist and, using a stripper of spherical hinges, take the hinge of steering draft from a rotary fist (see
fig. 11.11
);
– keeping from a provorachivaniye steering draft, unscrew a tip of steering draft from steering draft;
– screw a lock-nut and a tip of steering draft — thus the visible quantity of rounds of a carving on steering draft should correspond to the predemountable;
– connect the spherical hinge of steering draft to the lever of a rotary fist and tighten a lock-nut, previously having replaced it with the new.
