Check of operability of the sensor carry out in the following order:

– disconnect the electric tip from the sensor 8 (see fig. 4.4 );

– using a piece of a wire of the corresponding length, connect two contacts in the removed tip;

– if the fan of a radiator turned on, means, the sensor of turning on of the fan is faulty, and it is necessary to replace it;

– if the fan of a radiator does not work at short circuit of contacts of the sensor, it is necessary to check serviceability of the engine of the fan of a radiator or bringing wires;

– for check of the sensor lower it in capacity with water so that in water there was only a working part of the sensor with a carving, and electric contacts were over water. Connect ohmmeter contacts to sensor contacts. Heat up water and note temperature at which the sensor turned on (an ohmmeter should show short circuit). Cool water and note temperature at which the sensor will be switched off. If temperatures of inclusion and switching off of the sensor differ from demanded, replace the sensor.

Removal and installation of the sensor carry out in the following order:

– disconnect a wire from the negative plug of the storage battery;

– merge liquid from cooling system;

– disconnect the electric socket

– turn out the sensor 8 (see fig. 4.4 ) from a radiator 5 and remove laying 7.

Installation of the removed elements make in sequence, return to removal.
